Education Coordinator
Fireweed Community Woodshop is excited to seek a community-minded, organized individual to help coordinate online classes and other offerings. FCW is an educational and community-support and building organization that aims to empower women and nonbinary folk through the art of woodcraft. FCW is in the process of becoming a 501c3 nonprofit, born of the former Women’s Woodshop LLC and currently fiscally sponsored by Springboard for the Arts.
Tasks:

Coordinating classes with instructors

Updating the website with new classes

Creating zoom meeting for each class
-
Coordinating a class host (from the board) when necessary

Sending out the heads up newsletter the day a class goes live
-
Posting on social media about classes
-
Handling emails about classes, handling refunds

Preparing class kits, and processing class kit returns.

Bonus: has the interest or ability to do some basic woodworking for kit preparation (these skills can be developed, and the Education Coordinator will be able to take classes as room allows to gain experience, and have the opportunity to be involved in community woodworking projects).
*No woodworking experience is necessary; the coordinator serves in a support and facilitation role, though an interest in creative skill-building is ideal.
This position is a contract position, working remotely, that will grow according to the hired individual’s goals and as the shop transitions to a physical space later in 2021. Currently we offer about 4 classes per month. There is some travel involved with transporting class kits to the East Lake Library. The coordinator will also need space to stash a tote or two for tool kits.
Starting contract: 3 months of 3 hours per week at $25/hour (includes training hours). Flexible hours.
Room to extend contract/ grow into a staff position.
