Dreaming of renovating your kitchen but not sure where to begin. In this class we are going to tear apart a kitchen and rebuild it from the ground up.
Saturday, April 11, 10:00-12:00 Demolition Day
In this session we will tear out floors, cabinets, shut off sinks, and stoves. Getting things down to the studs in some parts, our fearless leader Erin Melzer will lead a lecture and demonstration on each step.
Saturday, April 18th, 10:00- 12:00 Rebuild it Day
This session will bring the kitchen back to a workable state: hanging sheet rock, mudding on both walls and ceilings, and discussing how the hardwood floors are refinished.
Wednesday, April 22, 6:00-8:00 PM Cabinet Install Day
Switching instructors, we have Suzanne joining us to talk shop about hanging upper cabinets and install base cabinets.
Wednesday, April 29th, 6:00-8:00 PM Floating Shelves
This kitchen is designed with open shelving. Learn how to use floating shelf hardware safely and attach it to your studs. Taught by Jess.
Saturday, May 02, 10:00-12:00 Tiling a Backsplash
Erin Melzer returns to co-teach with Jess how to set tile and grout a backsplash behind the kitchen sink and stove.
This course is primarily lecture and discussion based. Each kitchen is different and we want to equip you with the general knowledge so you can confidently wing it at your own home. There is no requirement to attend all courses, however we cannot divide up the package of classes. Please note we will not be covering plumbing or installing new appliances. There will be some hands on action to try things out, but we don't expect you to put in labor. We want this course to give you all the knowledge!
The location will be sent to students a week before class begins. The home is located in the Powderhorn Neighborhood.
