Learn how to carve a Dala horse using traditional Nordic carving techniques. We grain direction, knife holds for the hook & sloyd knife, and finishing. This class is great for the beginner or the person wanting to learn Sloyd style carving. Please note: we will not be painting these horses.

Please wear pants and close toed shoes, as we are going to make some wood chips!

This course will be held at Leonardo's Basement. It is limited to 10 people in order to offer more more interaction with peers and instructor.

This course has 4 free seats for the BIPOC (Black Indigenous People of Color) community to take this course at cost for the materials fee of $15.  Tools will be provided during class, but if you'd like to  purchase your own tools it's $37. Fireweed  believes in wealth re-distribution while our nation has still not offered proper reparations to marginalized communities.  The course registration  will be waived for individuals who identify as BIPOC.

Course materials include: dala horse blank
