This hands-on class blends technical skill-building with artistic exploration, guiding students from raw wood blank to a fully finished piece.

What You’ll Learn:

Bowl turning:

• • Safely mount, shape, hollow, and refine a bowl form with clean cuts and balanced proportions.

• • Create a precise, satisfying fit between bowl and lid using controlled cuts and measurement techniques.

Surface carving:

• • Add texture and dimension with High‑speed rotary tools such as microcarvers or Dremels to enhance the form and create visual interest.

Woodburning (Pyrography):

• • Use wire‑nib burners that offer precise heat control and interchangeable tips to add patterns, shading, or decorative motifs that complement your carved elements.

Finishing techniques:

• • Apply surface treatments that protect the wood and highlight your craftsmanship.
